PAPAYA

A Southeast Asian American story, and love letter to cultural identity. This film follows the “life” of papaya and provides a glimpse at a Southeast Asian refugee family’s new life, and a young mother’s unspoken trauma.

For centuries, continuous wars and conflicts ravaged the Southeast region of Asia. Many lost their families and those who survived lost their homes. This is the story of the ‘children’ of the diaspora and what they had to build and rebuild. This is Papaya.
